Mr. Meaney represents National Real Estate Advisors within the United States electrical industry, with particular emphasis on the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (“IBEW”) and the National Electrical Contractors Association (“NECA”).

As a well-respected member of the IBEW-NECA community, Mr. Meaney assists National’s President and CEO with organizing, planning, and leading new business development initiatives, including strengthening long-term relationships with clients and investors, key strategic partners, and company stakeholders. He also makes recommendations regarding labor relations issues and the implementation of National’s Responsible Contracting Policy.

Mr. Meaney has over 44 years of electrical union experience. He started his 4-year apprenticeship for IBEW Local 38 in Cleveland in 1978 and worked in the field as a journeyman on multiple industrial, commercial, and residential construction projects until 1999. He also served as a union steward and foreman during that time. In 1997, he was elected as the local union’s treasurer and shortly after was appointed by the Business Manager to be a full-time officer as the local union’s organizer in charge of membership development.  In 2008, he was appointed Assistant Business Manager. From 2012 – 2022, while serving as business manager/financial secretary, he was elected to the Cleveland Build & Construction Trades Council’s executive board. During this period, he managed a full-time staff of 10 people at the union hall and represented 2,200 members of IBEW Local 38, negotiated contracts for nine different branches of membership, and served on all trust funds, including pension, healthcare, joint apprenticeship, training committee, and labor-management committee.

Mr. Meaney holds an Associates of Technical Studies in Construction Electricity.
