Mr. Kanne contributes substantial efforts to sourcing, underwriting, evaluating, structuring, negotiating, and closing equity and debt investments for National. He works closely with senior personnel and legal counsel on investment opportunities, portfolio management, and capital raising for firm products.
Prior to joining National, Mr. Kanne was an Investment Banking Vice President in the Real Estate, Gaming & Lodging group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. While there, he worked on over $25 billion of M&A and strategic capital raises across more than 35 transactions for multiple product types, including common and preferred equity as well as investment grade, high yield, mezzanine, and convertible debt. During his tenure, he particularly focused on IPOs for real estate clients, including Safehold and Newmark Group. Previously, Mr. Kanne was an Associate at Savills where he was involved in a range of real estate investment sales and development capitalizations.
Mr. Kanne holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and English from Elon University, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
