Office Project in NW Portland's Frontside District Breaks Ground for $100 million

Community leaders and local business owners joined developers on Wednesday morning to celebrate the groundbreaking for Field Office, a $100 million office project in NW Portland’s emerging Frontside District. Scheduled for completion in early 2018, Field Office will include two buildings with approximately 300,000 square feet of office and retail space, making it one of the state’s largest commercial real estate developments in the past decade. The project is a joint venture between National Real Estate Advisors and ^project, a Portland based real estate investor and developer.

Jeff Kanne, President and CEO of National Real Estate Advisors said: “This technologically-advanced project fits National’s build-to-core strategy for developing vanguard assets which attract leading creative tenants to productive and sustainable working environments.  Assets like the Field Office are part our overall efforts to achieve our investment clients’ targeted returns.”

“Field Office embraces the values that continue to attract talented workers to Portland: a love of the outdoors and a culture of creativity,” said Tom Cody, principal at ^project, a Portland-based real estate investor and developer. “Designed for companies growing beyond ‘start-up’ mode, Field Office combines an innovative, collaborative atmosphere with the functionality and amenities that larger organizations require.”

Field Office is a first-in-Oregon investment for National Real Estate Advisors (National), a leading investment manager, specializing in build-to-core—developing and owning large-scale, urban commercial and multifamily projects for its institutional client accounts. National develops assets for institutional portfolios of apartments, office, mixed-use, industrial, data centers and hotels with design features, technological enhancements, and amenities that can drive high tenant demand and create value for investors. The firm is a subsidiary of the National Electrical Benefit Fund.

Field Office represents the next generation of creative office space: a building designed from the ground up for companies that are innovating in their own industries. Field Office breaks down the barriers that exist in traditional downtown office space, connecting people to the environment. Its ground floor gardens and pavilions, High Parks, and Sky Parks integrate the landscape into the buildings and bring works spaces outdoors.

Ranked the healthiest state economy in 2015 by Bloomberg, Oregon is uniquely positioned in the economic ecosystem as a place where people want to locate, grow, and be connected to our one-of-a-kind livability. Field Office will offer a new urban campus opportunity to propel our region’s creative economy to the next level.
