Mr. Barnes directs and manages the day-to-day activities of National’s IT network and business-critical systems, devising timely capabilities that reflect the highest state of technical sophistication, security, privacy, and reliability. He acts as an internal technical advisor in support of guiding National’s overall information technology risk and security program.

Martin has over 20 years of IT leadership experience, supporting user bases ranging from 50 to 15,000 users. He comes to National from the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), as Manager, Server Operations. Previously, at Accelera Solutions, Inc., Martin designed, implemented, and supported desktop virtualization solutions. As a Network and Systems Manager for United States Courts, Martin managed the IT systems and development teams supporting court operations for 275 employees. Prior to that, Martin spent eight years as Director, Enterprise Technology Services Division for St. John’s River Water Management District in Florida. Earlier in his career he supported the daily IT operations and IT infrastructure administration for the federal court system in Florida and was a Systems Analyst for Motorola in Illinois.

Mr. Barnes earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Florida A&M University.
