Ms. Johnstone works under National’s President and CEO to deliver a comprehensive marketing, communications, and public relations program that promotes and enhances National’s image and position in the marketplace and to the public.
Ms. Johnstone is responsible for guiding the strategy of all fund and project-level marketing and communication efforts while measuring the success of these programs, aligning a diverse portfolio of work against critical business objectives to support brands, investors, and partners nationally. She oversees the consistency of brand standards as well as the final editorial direction, design, production, and quality of National and its subsidiary’s publications and investor reports.
Ms. Johnstone has approximately nine years of professional marketing experience. Prior to joining National, Ms. Johnstone was the Director of Marketing for the Mid-Atlantic Region of Transwestern, a third- party real estate firm specializing in office leasing, property management and investment sales. At Transwestern, Ms. Johnstone directed marketing efforts for various service lines, focusing on branding and public relations. During her career, Ms. Johnstone has held positions at Lincoln Property Company, Imagination Stage and the Council on Culture and Arts.
She graduated magna cum laude from Florida State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with a minor in Communications and holds a Master of Business Administration from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. She is a member of Commercial Real Estate Women and the Urban Land Institute.
