Mr. McSpadden supports National’s Investment and Portfolio and Asset Management teams assisting in managing, monitoring and analyzing National’s real estate assets under management. He provides wide-ranging acquisition and pre-development services. He proactively monitors investments from acquisition closing, construction, lease-up through stabilization and long-term operations and implements actions to achieve expected returns.
Mr. McSpadden comes to National from Clark Enterprises (CEI) in Bethesda, MD, where he served as a Director, responsible for leading CEI’s underwriting process, including the review and creation of extensive financial models to analyze debt, partnership structures, return waterfalls and sensitivity tests. He evaluated and bid on $2 billion in potential deals, closed on 7 projects valued over $500M and managed due diligence, loan and closing processes for a number of DC and VA acquisitions including engaging in services with third-party vendors and consultants. Mr. McSpadden also supported Asset Management with office and retail tenant lease negotiations.
Mr. McSpadden holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Columbia University and both a Master of Business Administration with a Concentration in Real Estate Finance and Development and a Master in City and Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina, Kenan-Flager Business School. He is also certified in Argus DCF Valuation and a LEED Green Associate.
