Mr. Butler has served National’s clients since 2004 by carrying out proactive asset management strategies on a portfolio of highly complex and diverse real estate assets. Mr. Butler oversees the development and implementation of a broad range of real estate investments throughout the U.S. that are in various phases of the investment cycle including pre-development, under development and operational.

Dan’s diverse experience includes high density mixed-use urban centers, luxury apartment and condominium buildings, Class A office towers, student housing, senior housing developments and biotech facilities. Dan is involved with virtually every aspect of the investment process including underwriting, design, permitting, financing, development, construction, marketing, lease negotiation, management and disposition. He currently oversees multiple commercial and mixed-use projects with development values exceeding $2 billion.

Dan was formerly in Multifamily Structured Finance at the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac), where he managed the securitization and credit enhancement of pools of loans backed by apartment properties in markets throughout the country. He also held commercial real estate asset management positions at NationsBank (now Bank of America) and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Mr. Butler earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Austin College and a Master of Science in Real Estate from the Johns Hopkins University.
